Breakaway Lanyards for Safety

By admin,

Lanyards have become really popular in the work setting in the past few years.  Much of this popularity is due to the requirement of displaying an id badge at all times.  For most office workers, this doesn’t present a problem.  In their daily routine, they are not addressed with safety concerns from moving parts or equipment.

However, those workers that do have involvement with machinery and moving parts are presented with a problem.  They have to display their identification badge, but doing so with a lanyard makes for an unsafe work environment.  The usual options at that point are to wear a shirt clip that holds the badge in place or to use some type of belt badge clip.  Unfortunately, these options aren’t quite as comfortable as wearing a neck lanyard.

Fortunately, there is a great solution to this problem and that is the breakaway lanyard.  Breakaway neck lanyards can provide a safe solution for those workers that prefer to display their badges with a lanyard.  Breakaway badge lanyards include a clip-type object that connects the lanyard to the actual badge holder.  This clip separates when there is a tugging or pulling motion from either end of the lanyard.  If the lanyard does happen to separate, it can simply be clipped back together.

This setup creates a lanyard that works exceptionally well around moving parts.  If a lanyard were to ever get caught up, the breakaway clip would unattach itself and the worker would be able to safely step away from the machine.  It’s a nice item to provide to employees because it allows them to maintain their comfort level, but also provides the safety that is necessary in most workplaces.

Safety breakaway lanyards can be very affordable when purchased in bulk from an online retailer.  Often times, a breakaway option can be chosen when creating custom lanyards for a business or company.  A custom lanyard with the breakaway clip makes for a very professional office accessory.  For the best selection and prices on breakaway lanyards, check online retailers first.  They’ll often have what you’re looking for.  Local stores may also have breakaway neck lanyards, but they’ll come at a higher cost.
