Choose a Name Badge Holder

By admin,

If your employer requires you to wear and display an identification badge at all times, one of the first things you’re going to want to go with the id badge is a name badge holder.  A name tag badge holder not only allows for easy display of a badge, but it can also protect an id badge from daily wear and tear.  Considering the cost for replacement badges, this can be incredibly important for both the employer and the employee.

The most common type of badge holder is the plastic name badge holder.  Due to the small cost of the plastic holder, this is often what employers supply their workers with.  In most cases, these plastic holders work well and are a great choice.  Soft plastic holders can be bent easily, however, and they often tear.  If you want a more sturdy option, you’ll want to consider a hard plastic badge holder.  These holders are usually still cost effective, but they can withstand much more wear and tear than soft holders.

If you’re looking for a little fancier name badge option, consider purchasing a leather holder.  Leather holders will carry a higher price tag, but it can be worth it for the looks and better durability.  There are many different designs for leather on the marketplace so you’ll want to shop around to find the one that fits your personality.

Another option to consider when purchasing a holder is a retractable version.  A retractable name badge holder can make for very efficient use of an id badge when it needs to be used as a security swipe.  With the holder connected to a retractable reel, the user simply needs to pull on the name badge and the cord from the reel will extend.  When finished, the user can let go of the name badge and the cord with retract back into the reel.  For security swipes, this can save a lot of time and hassle for workers.

Finally, if you don’t want to deal with the accessories that go along with a name badge holder, you can choose to use a magnetic holder.  A magnetic name badge holder uses two magnets to secure the name badge in place.  One magnet is placed on the back of the id badge with the other placed inside the shirt or pocket.  With this type of display, you don’t have to worry about the distraction that other accessories, such as lanyards or clips, bring about.
